Would Somalia be better off with city states?

- Smaller countries are far more peaceful with less political turmoil


Dissolving Somalia into city states wouldn't cure the country of all its problems, but it definitely would be a start in quelling clan wars and stabilizing the region.

The smaller the country, the easier the opportunity it has for growth. The more homogeneous it is, the less likely it is to dissolve into chaos.

Thoughts?

All forms of government (be it democracy, theocracy, monarchy, fascism, etc.) work far easier on a minor scale.

I think it’s a good idea for some less homogeneous regions in the country to be broken into small city states, more so in the southern areas with more diversity. Puntland for example could be its own thing, I think Somalia should be broken into 5-7 countries.

As you said smaller countries have many benefits and the status quo is clearly not working out.

But look at the situation today, Ethiopia/Kenya/etc can freely (and does) enter any region they want more so in the al shabab controlled areas. I don’t think it can get worse.

confederation of small city-states that work closely? So each one would work together without including the other one. Just like the United arab emirates?

Somalia is a special case. Allah swt will never allow us to build a state without Qur'an and Sunnah. We can try every method under the sun, but it will always be futile. Just like Bani Israil and Banu Ismail, Somalis will remain in this state so as long as they turn their back on Allah swt.
The only solution is to establish a Madinah in Somalia and a Abu Bakr to pulvarise every clan under a unified Somali state where Allah swt is Sovereign. It is what Yahya pbuh called the "Kingdom of Allah swt" in Hebrew

It's the only way to end corruption and repair the economy and bring justice to weak clans.
Democracy will never work. Somalia are anarchists by nature and need a Iron fist to keep them in check

There's definitely that probable chance the concept can backfire extraordinarily and simply introduce even more chaos into Somalia by inciting clashes between the hypothetical city states.

So what do you believe is an appropriate countermeasure for a potential conflict between the Somali city states? Would this issue be resolved through a Somali version of the African/European Union - an alliance that would work together on avoiding war through trade of essential resources? Maybe they would still share the same dollar in order to reap benefits from a stable Somali fiscal currency and work together to fight their poverty?
