Last time he rigged elections.

Ali Bunow was very corrupt, but so was Nadiif. The real reason Ali Bunow lost is he was a victim to two dynasties, Ree Barrow and Ree Barre Ducaale, both his immediate cousins from his Ree Yaxye Sub clan of Abudwaq. He refused to be a puppet for Ree Barrow so they have been undermiining his government ever since day one. They took him to court from day one, sabotaged many of his development projects etc. They paid CBB like internet trolls to tarnish his name, and in the end, they purposefully split the Abudwaq vite by making Major Deeqow (who is a son of Ree Barrow) stand for election. When Ali signed a deal with a dutch company that was going to build a special type of tarmac road for Garissa county, everything was ready but they sabotaged it by using Aden barre Ducaale in the national government to block the licensing for the company. When Ali wanted to build a brand new market, they blocked it too.
Bunow didn't help himself as well as he just focussed on filling his pockets but these two families are a cancer for Garissa county. Now, Nadiif will be threatened as well. If he doesn't become a puppet for them as well, they will sabotage his government also.

He gave scholarships to many needy kids from all OG subclans when he was MP last whereas other MPs just used to give it only to their subclan. A lot of families still have gratitude for him for that.
