I know many successful Somalis with parents who never used to lay a hand on them and I also fall in that same catagory. Hitting isn't always the solution but I wouldn't mind spanking the impudent little brat.

Frankly speaking, these questions are BS.. I first answered according to good parent's characters... They told me that I'm a ^good parent^

Then I did, the other one.. which was about spanking. They told me, I'm a good parent too nacalaa iyo beentina kuyaala

I feel like if I followed the first one which was more of westerner/gaalo's perspective and good parenting characteristics, my kids would've turned to be spoiled brats. Ain't no one pampering any cunug of mine..

It wasn't quite conveyed in the quiz but all you really need is consistency, appropriate rewards, and punishments which are proportionate to the action. Children are very perceptive and they model the behavior(s) of those around them. I think children are much smarter than they get credit for. As long as you provide them with age-appropriate information, outline the consequences and provide them with choices, they will probably make a good decision.
