SL needs to be quick with it then, Oil will be worthless 30 years come
SL is forced to deal UN to get these benefits and so that the population don't suffer and it's done under Somalia label to political undermine Somaliland's independence and indentity. It's political subterfuge for the cost of life saving aid. Somalia doens't release any funds to Somaliland otherwise and actively attempts to stop Somaliland direct appeals to IC and inward investment and you get the picture.
This propaganda that Somalia or Mogadishu elites are patiently doling out cash to Somaliland is lame. If oil is found in Somalia it will remain in the hands of the elites in Southern Somalia specifically, mostly the clans who control Mogadishu. Everyone else is just there to be extorted as that is the only economic model we have seen them produce of their own free will.

People saying those things shouldnt and doesnt dictate politics though. Dont you think it will just widen the rift even more? All regions that are inside the country of somalia from a non biased standpoint are entitled to oil money. Its based on facts not emotions.

I don't like the idea of asking somalia for oil as they would probably ask for something in return and would want us to join them. Also being somali doesn't matter because our relationship is like north and south Korea.
In an ideal world, where we had a functioning government, they'd sign a contract to distribute appropriately and fairly to industrialised the nation and possibly include a clause of no sucession movements until certain goals have been met for all regions within a certain time period (I e a GDP value for all regions within 20 years). Unfortunately, no one in our government can think that far ahead.

The reason why somaliland cannot be allowed to secede is a matter of precedent. If you let this group secede then why can't another group secede and another and another. Federal states will just all balkanise because everyone wants power for dadkiisa iyo beeshiisa.
Then somalia will truly become a failed state, and its people a failed people because at that point you can't get anyone to agree on anything and they will never unite against a greater enemy. Still possible that this happens as a singular state but inevitable when fractured

Knowing the somali behaviour, sub sub clans would want to secede as soon as everyone has their own countries. This is going to sound so sad but if it ever gets to that point, id rather an ajaanib take over the country
This is exactly the point. Galbeed and NFD are blocked from independence for the same reasons.
somaliland doesn't belong to somalia we control ourselves and we got recognition before you. We only joined you guys to help you get recognition from italy because you were somali like us, however that was a big mistake as somalia snaked us and only let south somalis rule and if we didn't join them we could have been like djibouti. originally it was the opposite, south somalis didn't want us to join them and we wanted to be with all somalis but now we learned our lesson. somaliland has a case to seperate because we were a country before unlike those other territories that want to seperate.
we need recognition first to make legal deals.

Djibouti never joined because they were screwed over from somali unity by the french, their 30% afar population and only became independent during galbeed war and at that point its a bad idea to join a country at war
What's the point of SL or PL seceds when you'll end up UAE puppets and the FGS became Turkeys lackey, Somalis would rather work with foreigns then their own kin, truly sad times.

they dont see each other as their own kin. Alas ive just gotten used to the fact that maybe not in my lifetime. Hopefully my grandkids will see a peaceful Somalia with the disintegration of all clan lines and clan names.
Its not fair a white man gets to go through all of Europe, Americas, New zealand and australia without being asked if hes anglo saxon, norman, celt, germanic or any of the irrelevant tribes and towns and instead treated like one of their own. Hopefully somalis see that and reach enlightenment
