Realistically Somaliland and Puntland could become their own countries if only if the FGS is gone or replaced by a government hostile to the USA, for example less likely to happen but Al shabaab takeover

I dont think people appreciate how much of the so called forever corruption of Somalia is really just the facts that hsm was president in that pivotal 2012 period when the fgs was formed. Alshab had just been pushed out of mogadishu and the foreigners weren't in control like they were before. That was the pivotal moment whoever became president then would shape the future of somalia. We somehow got the most corrupt guy ever to hold office and the rest is history.

What's honestly even worse though and is a condemnation of the entire somali poltical class. Is that all these guys complaining about hsm now choose him again even though they knew how terrible he was.
