Will Somalia ever become a developed country?

That has to dumb idea, because every other nation has the technology, infrastructure, the know how to restart their economy, where Somalia has nothing to compete with the rest.

Technology and infrastructure requires a constant input of energy and natural resources to maintain. If you can't supply the necessary energy and natural resources, technology fails and infrastructure decays. It is extremely hard and time consuming to come back from such a fate.

Development has nothing to do with the unwashed pleb masses. Khat addicted qabilist idiots aren't the ones who will decide whether we develop or not.

It's the elites that build stuff and push us forward.

Unfortunately AS and our government has been killing them left and right whenever someone tries to improve Somalia.

I could agree with you but then we’d both be wrong

Somalia has all the attributes of success. Natural resources are what makes countries transform from dirt poor to a wealthy strong entity. Khaliji countries are perfect example of that.

Somalia lacks proper leadership. Singapore rose from the ashes of poverty to one of the wealthiest nations on the planet UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF 1 MAN: Lee Kuan Yew. He singlehandedly engineered the economic miracle of Singapore. It took him 30 years to completely transform his country.

Such gifted leaders can literally lift an entire society and overnight change their fortunes.

Our corrupt leaders will allow the CCP to rob all of our resources

Yes, within 15 years even with the right leadership and planning

The first step is to establish a Weberian state that has monopoly of power and the execution of law.

Large swaths of the population in China were still addicted to opium, a much greater social evil, when Mao cane into power in China, but due to wide sweeping policies of the government they eradicated that vice from their society.

Before we industrialize the first step we have to do is centralize power in Somalia, we have a very egalitarian state but it’s so egalitarian that power is distributed in the hands of every man this disenfranchises the state

I can see that happening if we have competent and selfless people in all levels of government. Mandatory cleanups and community building activities. Sure we may not become developed in cadaan standards but at least the people should be happy living in the country.
We have a habit of listening to the loudest mouth rather than looking for the intelligent donnys.

The payola system must disappear for us to even have a shred of a serious governance.
We can't have adeeryaal from the maqaayada paying for a seat in the government.

Diaspora niggas better control the gov and brainwash the locals into becoming better citizens. Teach them money management ,sobriety and how to produce shit. Our money goes out quicker than it comes in..
That's just my two cents.

Not necessarily. We just need to align incentives in the right way and the most selfish individuals would automatically turn into competent people carrying out your policies because it benefits them directly.

Selfish people should run businesses not governments. They are too much of a riskfactor to be trusted. Giving positions of power to wrong people will undo a lot of work, or in best case scenario, delay the progress. If someone is not the right person with integrity for the job, he/she won't be considered.

Abdullahi Yusuf is a great example. Very intelligent, very selfish and when things dont go his way, very capable of fucking shit over.

Exactly where I want them to be...in the private sector where the real power should lie.

In developed nations the politicians are seen as just help that help maintain the interests of the business elites.

The more you incentevize those smarter selfish individuals that rule of law and a productive population is more profitable to them than taxing foreign doners or chasing after small payouts through corruption...

then they'll work overtime to create the most rigid praiseworthy institutions that actually rule over the government.

In the states you have the Congressional Budget office which controls the US government behind the scenes and is directed by people that work for US moneyed interest.

The same in the UK where you have civil servants who essentially were all lawyers or accountants of UK's mega rich elites.

This isn't the same as lobbyist. That's what small time organizations do to get their voice in.

The real powers are already part of the machinery of government.

The reason why they bother is because that's the most efficient way to secure their interest for the long term.

No, Somalis are cursed, destined to be balkanised.

Their only hope is total annexation and domination.

I wish we had a leader who has only 30% the ability of Lee Kuan Yew.
