I don’t like the idea of secularism, but lots of Somalis that I’ve seen on the internet are entertaining the idea of Somalia becoming a secularist country. Is this a good or a bad idea? What are the pros/cons and do you ever see Somalia adopting this?

Around there they talked about changing the name of the country, what I would do is adopt secularism or spread the Christian religion and then let it annex by Ethiopia, many things would be gained and it would no longer be an insignificant country

Somalia was very secular and never followed islam.
That is why 13 clerics were killed by MSB for standing up against his anti Islamic stance.
Somalia has always followed Islam, ever since it adopted the culture. Otherwise our country wouldn’t be 99.99% (basically 100%) muslim.
Naah Somalia was cŕeated in 1960 by the west and adopted secularism.

I like the idea of secularism because it encourages creativity and more open minds which leads to innovation but we should have moderate islamic laws too
Somalia has existed for a long time. In 1415, we were known as “Adal Sultanate”. Different name, same people, culture and religion.
If you truly believe in Islam and want to be muslim you won'twouldn’t that lead to more somalis leaving Islam and going astray?
