For me to say yes doesn’t require me to stay permanently. 100% I split time between Somalia and the U.K.
I’ll be making many kids back home inshallah to keep my landheere ppl growing
3 months in Somalia, 6 months in US and 3 months in Turkey. I’ll go back home but I’m a world citizen. I don’t like staying in one place for too long
Not permanently, but home is where the heart is so majority of us we'll be in and out of the country. I can't see us fully assimilating in the west to the point where we completely forget about Somalia, not happening. We'll most likely maintain ties by visiting and contributing whenever possible.
I always wanted to move back home and I still do but each year that passes I become more content with staying in Australia.

U must be crazy to live in Somalia
Nope. No reason to. It's a foreign country and I do not have a connection with it. I have been discriminated against there due to my clan (insults and favouritism), mocked for not speaking Somali and treated like an outsider. I wish them the best in developing their nation however. It's the total opposite in Canada where cadaans have given me respect and dignity and value my input at shaqo. Somalia did not give me that respect. You are nothing in Somalia except a piece of meat to be chewed.

Unpopular opinion but I feel like the diaspora moving to Somalia is taking away opportunities from the locals
Younger me was idealist and wanted to move to Somalia.
I do plan to volunteer in local unis (a month or two) and donate once I am established in my field, inshallah.
