Lets stop calling it that bastardized name, its Diridhaba, if Gurgura didn't flip to the oromo side, it wouldn't be a chartered city, but due to the incompetency of the regional SR government, they have pushed them away.

To be fair Gurgura did choose Somalis over Oromos but some of their oromo speaking Elders were fooled. Let's not forget that Gurguras fought the Ethiopian Army in 91 to kick oromos out of Diridhaba.

In response, a Somali youth named Sahal gave a viral speech in Amharic, recounting the history of the Issa and Gurgura awraja (Diridhaba).

The next morning, the Dire Dawa police force attempted to apprehend him at his house in the Marmarsa district. However, local Somali youth gathered and defended Sahal, creating a standoff with the police. In the end, the police were unsuccessful and left without him.


This whole situation went viral the other Ethiopian ethinc groups are talking about how brave Somalis are to call out Abyi Ahmed.
