A former California police officer raped over 50 women and killed 12 people 40 yrs ago. He was the most wanted serial killer and was dabbed the Golden State Killer. Back in those days there was no DNA testing but police had collected and saved evidence from the crime scene. In the mid-80s when DNA started to be used, he stopped his crimes and thought that he will never be caught. hahahaha.....

He was finally caught after one of his close relatives submitted their DNA to 23andMe or ancestry.com. Police run a weekly check on all DNA databases and a close match was found. This ex-cop became a suspect due to this and fit the profile of the wanted serial killer. Police nabbed him after they did an actual DNA test on a discarded coffee cup he had thrown away.

So ladies and gentlemen, DON"T EVER submit your DNA for testing as this might come to haunt you or your close relatives.

Not only this Golden state serial killer, they also caught the Black Serial Killer from LA the Grim Ripper through relative DNA. His son was a criminal, and since 2009 California started collected DNA for criminals. Its funny that White Criminals DNA is collected from Private DNA websites and black criminals through the criminal records of their family! Funny tidbit lol
