I visited Vancouver for first time a few years ago, went to go visit childhood friend who's from Burundi. We're just chilling, I'm surprised of the friendliness of cadaans as it's not like that in Edmonton. Then at certain point we were chilling at the park and talking to this cadaan couple and they were like it's refreshing to see other people of color other than asians they said, then I said what do you mean, they said it get too suffocating and sometimes we feel like the minority. Then I told them......but they built this place, you should've seen how mad they got

I noticed a lot of Black & Asian people seem to hold cadaans to a higher moral standing than everyone else, to me that's a genuine inferiority complex. I haven't seen this much from our Somali sisters hamdullilah, but I remember when I used to be in university there was this one madow chick in particular she used to be super vocal about her hatred and disdain of cadaans, she used to be one of those that would be on campus with a mic and a big ass poster hanging from both sides of her body (front and back).

White people are pretty chill on average today. It's the Asians you'd have to worry about, there's a higher chance they'll discriminate against you. I totally relate to them, in the United States there are entire neighborhoods that are Mexican, and you get excited to see other people of color.

There's something nice about having true diversity... not just having one minority dominate an area.

Honestly...
White people are pretty chill on average today. It's the Asians you'd have to worry about, there's a higher chance they'll discriminate against you. I totally relate to them, in the United States there are entire neighborhoods that are Mexican, and you get excited to see other people of color.

There's something nice about having true diversity... not just having one minority dominate an area.

Honestly I'm just waiting for China-India war to pop off, then Pakistan and Banglasdesh will split it with China.

I never understood that, I was listening to Somali girls yesterday on the benches of the university, she said "yes but I hate white people, I really can not stay with them" I said to myself you girls wouldn't have the luxury of being independent, have the freedom to associate who you want, date or marry whoever you want to, say anything without repercussion if you if you weren't in Western, They gave you these rights called Women rights which is foreign concept in the Eastern cultures.

In my experience, the ones that hate cadaans the most are those that are very pro-black/pan-African and those that are hardcore Salafis. The pro-black ones have internalised the history of race-relations in the U.S and the hardcore Salafis are self-explanatory (though they hate the West in general, not specifically whites). Mix the two together and bammm, angry Xaliimo.

All jokes aside, I don't think their views are entirely baseless. However, although I acknowledge all the evil cadaans have caused via the colonial forces of Western Europe, the English speaking part of the West is much closer to a post-racial society than anywhere else. I've always felt more comfortable around cadaans than I have around Arabs, that's for sure.
