Al Shabab thrives on political conflict between regions or between regions and feds. That's why it survived in Galkacyo so well due to the division of the city. Well it does the same across the whole nation where there is division. It can operate in all territories stealthly by promising to harm the other and vice versa.

Solution is political settlement between politicians and social reconcilations between clans. The political one is easier to settle then the clan one. The political one needs constitution settlement. The clan one needs isimo to resolve all tuulo-region-federal conflicts. You also need a federal security apparatus that cooperate together to weed out shabab where there is intelligence saying so.

Finally u need to pass strict 'laws' against terrorism to warn people, any1 caught harboring, working, concealing these ppl will be given the death penalty not just the 'culprit'. The culprit had a-lot of help we need laws that treat shabab or helpers the same.

Jamal is a low-key AS sympathiser and paints a good picture of their rule so that’s why he’s welcome. AS always welcome reporters who can be controlled by them.

No it’s because they were going to be used as Farmaajo’s personal militia.

Secondly how are you still lying to people when we all know what happened in 2017 and 2019 under Farmaajo. There were serious calls for his impeachment after the 2019 bombing.

His time was the most unsafe since HSM liberated most of Benadir. Security has not improved and in fact gone backwards.

Farmaajo hasn’t captured a single populous city and now Mogadishu residents are getting tripled taxed. Kulaha he made the security good.

Al Shabab isn't fighting conventionally anymore, it's switched to an insurgency. So an army isn't the best response. The only way to defeat an insurgency is simple.

1. Political resolution between leaders so there is no room for shabab to do 'isku dir' and reside somewhere.

2. Clan reconcliation so there is no clan sympthisers who will help them to harm other clans

3. Strict terrorism laws not just punishing culprit but all those involved in the chain.

The non-Somali analysts understand the problem of Alshabab much better than Somali analysts. Harun Maruuf & Caynte are the only Somali analysts worth listening to.

Alshabab is more dangerous than UIC because at its core are a group of ideological hardliners who don't have a shred of Somali nationalism. The UIC was Islamist but also nationalist. Alshabab are entirely motivated by twisted religious ideology. This is how they were able to kill more than 700 Somalia at Zoobe without flinching. Alshabab believe that the vast majority of Somalis are infidels. The UIC did not believe this.
