Your native tongue meaning mother tongue. You’re Somali and your ancestral language is Somali. Even if your Arabic is better, that’s not the language of your people. You’re not the same as an Egyptian or Lebanese who might not come from Arab tribes but have been speaking Arabic for at least a 1000 yrs.My arabic is more fluent than my somali.yoo im Arab guyz. I understand where you’re coming from, I agree, but the whole world including Egyptians, Palestinians and the like are seen as Arab and they too see themselves as Arab. If you go up to a Syrian or Palestinian and say they’re not Arab, they wouldn’t take you serious despite the fact that strictly speaking, they’re Arabized peoples and tbh after more than a millennia of speaking Arabic and identifying as such, arguing they’re not is fruitless.
Fair enough but it should be the blood that determines your ethnicity not your adopted culture and language. An arab that learnt somali and assimilated cant be somali and vice versa
The world doesn’t work that way. Arabized peoples do have a small % of Arab DNA btw and there are Somali people like the Banadiris of Arab origins seems as Somali or even Caraab Salaax from Puntland who are phenotype 100% Somali but have a Mehri forefather and don’t belong to an ethnic Somali tribe, but are socially and tbh in every way seen as Somali.
An Arab that learnt Somali simply can’t be Somali since their ancestors haven’t lived in the Somali peninsula for centuries nor were their ancestors conquered. A big part of what makes people believe they belong to a group of people is centuries of assimilation and simply learning a language has nothing to do with that.

You're wrong on that one. Almost every Black/madow Somali deny being an Arab in real life. Only Arab looking/racially Ambiguous Somalis identify as Arabs.
I was trolling sahib. Moroccans only have a slight edge over Somalis when it comes to "who's more Arab" because over 90% of them speak Arabic [but a very messed up dialect].
I've been mistaken for Arab many times and that doesn't mean I claim it. Universally whether on social media or real life all the people I've seen claiming Ana Arab are very meadow.

Depends, there are pre-hilalian dialects for example that are quite distinct. Darija itself derives from Hilalian Arabic it uses a lot of words that people no longer use in arabic. Also the pronunciation is the difference, tamazight had an effect on the pronunciation meaning maghrebis "sound" like they skip the vowels.
Also media, the maghreb unlike Egypt didn't have any major media Misr was itself the Hollywood of the Arab world and many arabs grew up around the films and shows. Also consider geographic distance, eastern arabs are all close to each other while the west became distant after the arabic language spread eventually becoming distinct
