The true reason Somalis are poor is multifaceted but a large part is ignorance and only Satan loves an ignorant population as their easily tricked and will buy into anything even if the result increases their poverty. In Islam anything is halal if hunger or poverty emerges is the last verse in the Quran. If you don't do ribbah you will face poverty thru inflation which is usually 3 to 5% devaluing each year of any currency you store in banks or under your beds or luggages. I'll give you an example when my father and his ambassador arrived in Australia my dad had 150k while ambassador had 250k in late 80s. My dad bought a property outright with a mortgage and now it's worth 1.5 million. He put his currency towards an asset. Now what did ambassador do?
He kept the money in savings and over 30 years his cash won't even get him an apartment now here where as he could've got 2 properties and sitting on 3 million. He lost 3 to 5% devaluing each year which adds up over 30 years to the point his money is worth far less. He refused a mortgage cause of ribbah also, Islam doesn't teach to harm yourself and your well being.
