Why Somalia

The name Somalia is already cursed though.

People associate it with lawlessness/failed state and piracy.

Let's be honest, it has more to do with the term 'Somali' nowadays than with the -ia suffix. Indeed, Somalia has destroyed the reputation of anything with Somali in it, but changing it 'Somali Republic' won't fix that, perhaps making it worse (Pirate/Terror-associated Banana Republic).

Let's call the country Azania.

I don't mind this proposal. It is more inclusive as nobody claims it as an ethnic group and we can finally separate Somali the ethnicity from the concept of a country.
