Everywhere I go there’s Somalis claiming to be mixed. The other day I was in a tiktok comment section and every other person was claiming to be half somali half balayo.

Like what?! I’m on another site and the only other somali girl in my group is claiming to be half arab.

Tiktok is amplifying every mixed somali in existense who does a video stating they are mixed. The algorithm has picked this up and is showing it to us.

Somalis rarely have mixed kids so some people are interested when they see a mixed person and how they look like. We are insular people so we are curious about stuff that falls out of our norm.

In my city San Diego their is a few mixed Somalis. (Half Mexican, half Ethiopian, half Asian etc) but not a significant amount.

I have never seen Somali mixed with other races beside madow and cadaan here in America and they are all not even adults.

1. Low Self-Esteem
2. An Aversion to Somalis

4. False Belief in Some Myth About the Origin of their Clan Progenitor
