I agree but there are also some things id like to sayIn Somali gender wars, I've observed most of the people who had the issue are young western-born or raised Somali men vs older Somali women who were born back home and came here as teens or adults.
What I also noticed is some of the young Somali men who were either born or raised in the West have turned out to be very nationalistic when it comes to Somalis and their history. They adopted a certain supremacy attitude where they look down on other groups. And it is this group that is at war with any Somali woman they see crossing the line, especially when it comes to marrying a non-Somali or saying anything negative against Somali men. These guys are fierce, sometimes very racist, and have plenty of time on their hands.
The bottom line, we need to understand these younger Somali guys are not necessarily incels. Some of them have wives or girlfriends. They just see themselves as the gatekeepers of the Somali name in the West and would defend it at any cost. Especially, in the UK, they tend to have issues with Jamaicans & West Africans. Sometimes with Asians as well, but by and large they have issues with Yardies and Fufus.
Not every somali nationalist is like this, I always defend somali women aswell since they are a part of the somali identity and name. And it is this group that is at war with any Somali woman they see crossing the line,
Yeah as a somali in the UK idk what we did to these madows but they always have something to say about somalis, i can't stand there and let them disrespect somalis so obviously i have to say something aswell but i often get shut down as a racist even though i only gave back a fraction of the energy they give.Especially, in the UK, they tend to have issues with Jamaicans & West Africans. Sometimes with Asians as well, but by and large they have issues with Yardies and Fufus.
This is very true, many somali guys i come across including myself have seen how the somali name has been dragged by the media and it is often the men who face this disrespect so naturally we fight fire with fire. They just see themselves as the gatekeepers of the Somali name in the West and would defend it at any cost.
I'm not a woman so idk how the young Xalimos get treated but so far i just see they are just fetishized.
Like no joke 2 days ago i was walking to the bus stop behind this group of madow guys and they were talking about cadaan women, indian women and then 2 of them started talking about somali girls and then i remember one looking back at me and then leaning forward to say something.
That type of fetishizing of Xalimos makes me hella angry but i dont really have the words to describe exactly why
