Compare Sweden to its neighboring European countries. They have about the same amount of fatalities from corona adjusted for pop. But unlike their neighboring countries, Sweden’s economy has not been completely crippled and set back billions/trillions in debt. Sweden did what all the other countries should have done but we were quick to react based on faulty number that told us corona had a 2% fatality rate (turns out it’s actually somewhere 0.1) and now in the us there’s mass protests begging states to open up because we’re starting to realize what a tragic mistake we made in shutting down. We should’ve followed Sweden’s example, but we followed China’s and are now reaping the consequences with 22+ millions jobs lost and the economy losing all gains since 2009.
