Actually there is if you pay attention to what’s going on right now. Deni announced his candidacy today. Farmaajo is the only one with a unified bloc. Sharif, Kheyre , and Deni will split the rest of the votes instead of the opposition backing just 1 candidate and the rest dropping out. This works in Farmaajos favor as they will basically be splitting the anti Farmaajo votes to irrelevant sections instead of 1 big bloc

Doesn't Farmaajo also essentially have the Isaaq "MPs"? If he has the South West, Isaaq & Gedo "MPs" that makes him a clear favourite doesn't, southern maths wise?

I could be wrong though, I'm by no means an expert on what passes for an "election" process in Somalia.

Apparently. Either way Farmaajo has already shown he can buy off MPs. He did it to Kheyre when he was PM. Paid even his own allies to oust him. And if you’re paying attention he’s been flying back and forth to Qatar for for this exact reason. After an MP secures their seat their loyalty shifts to whoever fills their pocket. The langaabs who paid Deni for their seat will get refund from Farmaajo for their vote
