Why is Eritrea an independent country ?

Excuse my ignoring but why isn’t Eritrea apart of Ethiopia?

I asked this question to this Eritrean guy I know but he’s kind of a roadman so he didn’t give me a good answer.

some haters of isaias Afwerki say he’s from Ethiopia instead of Eritrea .

did they become a different country bc they didn’t want to be controlled by the government in Addis Ababa?

one of the ethiopian emperors gave italy Eritrea.
After The colonial era the people of Eritrea were fed up by the mistreatment from the monarchy and revolted.

the somali gov trained, funded, gave somali passports , armed them and supported them with secret troops.

they than successfully gained independence. The Eritrean rebel movement and the kacaan did the same for tplf. But tplf went back to bite the hands that fed them and put them in power.
