Why is Curly Hair demonised?

I started thinking about this lately when I was watching a video about how Disney managed to implement curly hair in their 3D films and then when they began talking about Repunzel I remembered that her evil stepmother had curly hair. And she was the only one with curly hair in the movie.

And that got me thinking why curly hair is demonised in mainstream media? A lot of villains, going back years, have had curly hair. Not just villains, but crazy people too. And even the radical communists that are mocked on news stations also have curls.

Why do people dislike people with curly hair? Is it because it differs from the norm of straight hair? Is it because of the stereotype that people with curls look more “messy”?

It's to make their flat hair seem better, just like how some skinny girls pick on the curvy girl.

Afro hair (and curly hair) is considered unpleasant in the work field; especially for a black women who’s landing a job interview.

They deem it to be uncultured or unprofessional.
what’s crazy that it’s the natural hair for the person to grow an Afro hair.

This stigma have also effected minority groups outside the western world.

Mainly because the beauty trend is more focused on western appeal.

I find curly hair and Afro women to be attractive because it’s natural.

By curly hair do you mean “Madow hair” ? If so it mostly stems from colonialism, and the hate for “black features”. This hatred has been passed on from generation to generation. But if you have “soft curly hair” it’s accepted, and mostly sort after. People get their hair curled all the time, this racist ideology is ingrained in their psyche from a young age. Only way it’ll ever change is via education and acceptance of your fellow man. But due to the destructive nature of man, it’ll take a while for it to come to fruition unfortunately.
