I’m not focused on just Ethiopia think it would benefit all of africa having free trade instead of having outsiders exploit us. Everyone keeps there culture and governs own region. Lol I’m somali guy your paranoid, i vacay to Somalia usually galdogob and bossaso hopefully one day to Xamar when it’s stable. Won’t be able to ever move back probably ,I make good money in corporate America but not enough to up and quit anytime soon. At most will get 4-5 weeks of vacay

That's true af, It was yesterday when I asked a guy where he was from and he said Ethiopia and I asked him if he was Oromo or Ahmari and he kept going around speaking gibberish, I asked the same q a couple times thinking he didn't understand me as he spoke basic English, eventually he said I'm Ethiopia(n) only, I'm from Addis and we Addisans don't say we're this or that, then I said why can't you say your ethnicity but Somalis and Oromos can? He said they've inferiority complex. I knew it was him who had IC but I just nodded along.
That's because Amhara is not a concrete identity like Somali, Tigrayan or Afar. Amhara refers to two unusually contrasting demographics. Those from Addis Ababa are the metropolitan privileged that have abandoned the Amhara identity in favor for an Ethiopianist identity they view themselves at the center of. The only reason they still call themselves Amhara is because the sociopolitical climate of the late 80s and early 90s forced ethno-politics to the forefront. The only way they could compete for power in a post-Derg Ethiopia is by mobilizing along ethnic lines. It's the same with Amharized Oromo from Addis.
On the other hand you have the largely rural Amhara peasantry who strongly identify with specifically Amhara culture and identity. These are the ones that are being slaughtered left and right while their Addis counterpart heavily support whatever regime wears a pan-Ethiopian cloak.
The government is not strong at all most (currently peaceful) regions just want to coast by until they cant anymore(i.e the war boils over) and continue having their schools, water supply, hospitals, roads, electrcity, and food supply developed.
The regions that are fighting now are the ones who sat by and developed whilst the other regions were being intentionally sabotaged.
It's all relative most of Amhara and and Tiqray are of Agaw and Oromo origin and a third of Oromo's are of Habasha origin, acording to genetics.
Oromos have an unreciprocated love for Somalis, I've seen many of them online and in real life who take pride in being related to Somalis, althou I'm skeptical of any foreigner I feel like we at least have to respect them and refrain from depicting them as nobodies. Oromos don't consider us as a threat.
Having over 40 million relatives and establishing good relations with them is never a bad idea, it would only make the two of us African supper powers and we would challenge the continenthood Bantus and Arabs and could keep them at bay easily.
But we to deal with our respective shits for now.

Horta why did our ancestors not conquer/expand towards and beyond the Ethiopian highlands? The Ethiopia highlands stops rain from heading east towards Somalia, we lost a great opportunity to live in a nice cool region, with greenery, wildlife, forests, with lots of rain etc. Oromos should be grateful that they live in a beautiful region.

We already have an african union. It is useless.
We have to focus on tying our economy to the red sea, Mediterranean and indian ocean. Like before but a tad different.
We can act as an gateway to the enterior of east africa. Tell the ethiopians to up their economy too the kenyans and the south sudanese too and we will rule east africa together perhaps even central africa as well.
Just keep everyone in their own nations we do not need to overcrowd our territories. Perhaps we can support the somalis in djibouti, ethiopia and kenya to fully control their nations economies.

good point didn’t think of it that way. instead of importing more business and resources we might import conflict and refugees. Sometimes I get to optimistic with africa, living in America makes it all seem so simple
