Why doesn’t South West State have a Vice President?

According to South West Constitution, the Vice President of South West State doesn’t get elected like the president. It infact gets named by the President after consulting with the elders as it says in Article 45 of South West State constitution.

Is there any reason to why there has been no selection of the VP?

Shariif Sakiin was going to name HG Indha'Cadde as VP of KG state during his term in 2015, but was blocked by HSM who wanted an Abgaal VP, but Shariif sakiin and HGs refused, thus it became a stalemate which neither side got VP and KG became VP-less.

But since Laftagreen became President he has been using the Hawiye MPs in KG state and its VP as a bargaining chip to get something in return such as Representatives in Mogadishu.

P,s the reason D&M wanted HG VP for KG is because of logical reasons, because the only Hawiye sub to have the most representatives such Deputy Governor of S/hoose and heaviest Firepower in S/hoose is HG, thus logic dictates HG gets the VP Post.

Yeah, that position gets elected the same day as the president.

The current candidates is disputed but the position exists.
