Why does Somalia and Somaliland allow people to develop land anywhere they want.

All this has done is lead to a bunch of scattered neighbourhood and towns around the whole region. It's so ugly. You will literally just see a group of 50 houses in the middle of nowhere. with zero infrastructure to support it.

The government doesn't have time to build a big and expensive road to connect your random neighborhood to the city because you decided to build in the middle of nowhere.

People should be forced to develop as close to others as possible.

Stuff like this should not be allowed to happen

You start in the city, then you sprawl out. That's how normal development works. It allows the government the ability to provide infrastructure as well.

You don't go 50 miles out then start building your own neighborhood.

This is the effect of de-centralization, if the government issued a law stating new settlements had to be in a certain area, the people would just say;

"How can they tell me what to do in my lands?"

There is no authority, everyone just does what they want

Taxation is theft

Private businesses are better for that. The government just contracts certain construction companies to do it. Here in the USA, Domino’s has dipped its toes into the world of urban renewal. Back in June, the company announced it would help a handful of American cities and towns fix some of their chronic pothole problems. In the “Paving for Pizza” program, Domino’s handed over cash to municipalities across America, cities arranged for workers to repair cracks and potholes, and a Domino’s logo was spray-painted onto some of the newly smoothed streets. Now, I believe that Somali businesses should something similar but I know there’s a lot obstacles and it would a long process to get it to work. I’m anti government and think centralized government, heavy business regulations and un checked immigration is what’s holding Somalia back. I believe statism leads to more qabil infighting and trying to make everyone “equal “ just leads to more resentment towards each other. This is from an American that has lived under statism. Sorry, if my views seem naive .
