Are they like the origins of food worldwide because just cause they eat it doesn’t mean it came from them. Not saying these foods are somali either.

So I was talking to an Indian coworker about what we normally eat for afur and she was like “yo most of those foods are Indian originally” and I was like damn you’re right actually lool. When you think about it a lot of Somali dishes have Indian influence..

Bajiye
Shaah
Chapati
Shigni (chutney)
Bariis (which is oddly similar to biryani)
Etc

Even xawaash is literally the exact same spices as garam masala where did this huge influence come from?

Somalia is located on the Indian Ocean, so there were a lot of Indian merchants selling their stuff

Calooley is tripe. That’s the english word.
I heard in Somali culture, calooley is for women

Of course the part people dislike the most is for women

but i like it. Maybe that’s why. It’s controversial food.

tea is of origin Chinese but it’s India that made it a worldwide thing..
A lot of western is infact Middle Eastern and everything that’s Middle Eastern is infact indian .
