Why do some somalis look sudanese

My mom told me that there are somalis that look sudanese (dinka). Is it true? Is it because of the weather back home?

There was a kid in school that was tall, skinny and dark. I assumed he was dinka until he spoke somali.

Yes. Because Somali longer applies to homogenous racially “pure” as it once were but now includes bunch of sheegatos.

Because we assimilated and mixed with lots of females from conquered neighbors, like oromos and bantus in the south and cad cads. Now they are all apart of the family.
