Meaning of the name is what makes the name islamic name and not to sound arabic or Arabic script
Islamic names can sound somali and can be written in somali script

My point is Islamic names are the meaning of names and somali names are islamic names
Also Arabs had those arabic islamic names before they were muslim
And all the companions of nabi Muhammad didnt change their names when they accepted islam and become muslims

Although majority of Somalis have arabic names we still have a good amount of libaans , sharmaake , ayanlee and a whole lot Farahs ( The second most common after abdi ) . Many more names after too

This is the effect of the civil war, once again unfortunately.
Somalis started hold firmly to our religion after witnessing the horrors of the civil war.
In my abtirsi, only mine, my fathers and grandfathers name originates from the arabian peninsula. The rest are somali, well except one now that recounted kkkk.
Nonetheless, somalis started naming their boys strictly after prophets or attributes of Allah SWT. For girls, its mostly companions of our Prophets (Maryam, Aisha, Asiya).
Im little bit sad, because there is so many somali names that have beautiful meanings, that are not used. Im even afraid some of the less known names will go extinct, even back home.
I honestly believe this will be reversed in the future. I will personally give all of my kids awesome somali names, so that whenever they think of themselves, they will remember they are somali.

People are naming their kids Somali, non-Ayrab Muslim and gaalo names now.
