Why do people heavily downplay the significance/history of Somali people?

I’ve had a handful of people tell that the Adal empire was founded & ruled by either the Arabs, Oromo, and/or Habesha.
They was a post on one of the African fb groups stating that coffee was invented in Ethiopia. Caadans made movies and acknowledge resistance the Zulus and Mandela or Nat Turner or how Ethiopia “fighting & winning “ against colonialism but they never talk about the Dervish or Somali Youth League.

Also, I’ve been told by many “Moorish” Americans, Hebrew Israelites and Ethiopians that Somalia is an European colonial invention.

The peoples who have a history are the ones who influenced the world, such as the Arabs or Semites, whites, the Chinese, the Persians, and the Indians. The rest have a humble history

It's mostly ethiipians who do and I'd say that's a hint of inferiority complex they just dont want to accept. They perceive themselves as the only legitimate rulers of the horn

Its all just coping and seething, pay no attention to it.

I think it can be attributed to two distinct groups: those who are malicious and seek to belittle Somalis, knowingly spreading lies aka Ethiopians. It's important to remember Somali history isn't easily accessible for many people due to a language barrier, whether it's documents in Italian or Somali. With our rich oral history, if you're unable to comprehend oral content, you've essentially handicapped yourself and excluded 60% of the available information.

I am glad they think that. Because if they knew our history, we would have African Americans saying "we wuz Somalis sultanates n shieet"
