Why do people back home lie about their age?

I've noticed that they don't like disclosing their age, infact they always claim 21-24 years old!! Why do they hide their age? 40 year old men with 10 kids will claim they're 23 years old. Infact I've never heard of a Somali back home who will say theyre 35.

What's the point of hiding your age when your face can expose you?
