Why do Amharas claim Aksum?

By the way they were talking about the Kingdom, I assumed it was located firmly in the Amhara region or at-least was genetically Amharic. Digging a little bit deeper I now realize it was a solely Tigray/Eritrea enterprise lmfao.

How have I been decieved so long? The Amharic agenda is really strong I will give them that- convincing the world that this was their Kingdom is a feat unmatched.

Cause they're habesha and the last dynasty of Aksum was proto-amhara, they overthrew the king but it all went downhill from there
Aksum had 1 dynasty the whole time, also how can they be proto-amhara if the last king of the country tried to conquer the region where Amharas live and convert them to Christianity.

Also after Axum, the country was led by the Zagwe dynasty, who moved the power base south into their own [Agaw] areas. Then after them the Sultanate of Shewa [a Harla country] sponsored a Amharic revolt against the Agaw. The rest is history!

Not necessarily My understanding is that the amhara are essentially descended from the aksumite soliders settling and intermarrying with the agaw which formed the amahara.

None of the currently spoke ethio-semetic lanaguges are actually directly descended from ge'ez Not evene tigrinya/tigre. Also there is a decent likelyhood that the

Doesn't Tigre have a 71% lexical similarity to Ge'ez, followed by Tigrinya with 68%, and then Amharic at 62%?

Assuming the Ethio-Semites did not intentionally fill their languages with Ge'ez words to look cool it seems that Ge'ez is the father of these languages.

Current evidence seems to point to Tigrigna and Tigre sharing a common ancestor with Ge'ez instead of being descended from it.
Also I'm pretty sure that the reason Tigre has higher lexical similarity to Ge'ez than Tigrigna is because of Arabic lexicon, not because of retaining more Ge'ez words

No, in fact theres no proof the kings are even of the same family, for example for the Walasma dynasty its Hebel ibn Hebel etc

For the kings of Aksum most have no abtirsi and theres whole periods where historians just guess who ruled, but we are 1000% sure there was a major dynastic change 700s ad

What region ? You mean wollo ?

1. Shewa was contemporary with Zagwes no relation or continuity between those two states, also no evidence linking Harla to it

2. Shewa didnt even exist anymore when Yekuno amlak was doing his thing

Dont be so sure of something if you're not well versed in the topic sxb, seek knowledge instead

Agazi and Tigre are mentioned together in an early Ptolemaic inscription

Amharas claim it because its Habesha history, the whole Habesha Ethio-Semitic mix started in that area where Sabeans settled

I think you're confused, Amharas arent some kind of cushites conquered by Tigrinya peoples, theyre about 70% cushite just like Tigrayans, only reason some of them go below that is because of oromo invasions and slavery
