Why do Africans/Somalis and Arabs have maids in house when they can just buy electric household appliances?

Some people here will comment on the electricity cost but the Arabs have way too much of it. The Africans on the other hand can incorporate solar energy to their households to minimize cost. Why do they keep maids in their dwellings? I think some maids even have their sleeping quarters assigned to them. It's crazy how these people are that lazy.
