Wow so it says that the humid period started 14,600–14,500 years ago and ended around 5,500 years ago meaning that the formation of our cushitic ancestors was during the humid period, how humid was that region during that time? I always thought our cushitic ancestors developed in a more arid or semi arid landscape?

It was more like the savannas than like jungle. The term humid is a bit misleading, it refers to being greener/more livable than today, not that it was like the Amazon. The other term that is used is ''the Green Sahara period''.

The most Nilotic group-Dinka are only 70% descended from them with 30% Ancestry from Niger-congo related peoples.
