Why did Al-Shabaab’s senior leaders (Al-Afghani & Godane ) blow up the Somaliland state house and Ethio-embassy in 2008?

I thought Isaaqs were patriotic and loved the soils of their lands. Why would these Isaaq men blow up their homeland and kill 30 of their clans men?
