Why blames people who can't speak Somali ?

personally my somali is really average but i manage to make myself understood and have a conversation with someone, but i never understood the parents who publicly humiliate their children in front of others by saying "he can't speak !" But it's all the fault of the parents.

For my part, I learned the language on my own, my mother never taught me and I spoke broken somali until adolescence.
On top of that, I come from a city where there are hardly any Somalis, and my best friends are all ajnabi.

The main problem why diaspora born Somalis are so terrible at Af-Somali is because Somali media is so shit and also kind of depressing (often about tribal wars or politics).

I know many diaspora Turks who speak top tier Turkish despite having lived abroad all their lives because Turkish media is that good.

Cause most of the Somalis that were born in western countries speak with their friends etc in the language of the country that they are living in. Turkish people for example even if their parents were born in western countries they still speak in their mother tongue to each other. They listen to Turkish music they watch Turkish stuff they fly a 2-3 times a year to turkey.
