Why are Tech companies so tryhard when it comes to image? The bubble which will soon burst.

But based on your title, it's because image is everything. And just like every other company on the face of the planet, they'll fight tooth and nail to protect it.
But yh, the tech industry isn't going anywhere. Aside from the massive amounts of money these guys are sitting on, they also have the backing of major banks and governments. Lastly, tech startups are only looking for one thing in this day and age... acquisition.
There's a saying "10 years ago companies wanted to be the next Google. Now, tech companies want to be purchased by Google" (or something of that nature)
