Walahi, they notice every little detail about everyone!

If u have a slightly bent/curved finger, they'll notice within a minute of meeting you and next thing you know your name is Farax far-qalooc.

If you walk a little weird or with a very slight limp, your nickname might be Jamac Jaabe or Jamac Jiis.

Yaab. We all probably have nicknames we don't even know about!

I remember years back neighbours discussing how a newborn would eventually look. They were convinced the kid would have a kamas. Theres not even a English word for that.:faysalwtf:

I once translated for this habaryar. When the cadaan lady showed up she raised her hands making dua "ilhayow tan sharteda iga qabo, ilhayow gaashan cad iga qabo".

Lol I still laugh about this whenever I remember it

I know guys who are called cookie and cholesterol because they are fat. A nigga with a large mouth, they call af minshaar and af libaax.:mjlol:

a guy with a scar on his cheek, they call that nigga canjeex. There is no courtesy or discretion at all.:ivers:

One of my older bros friends is called af hambeegar because of his gigantic lips. Another one of his friends was called virus because he used to be so skinny. My personal favourite was a guy we used to call xaarweyne because he stank up the dugsi toilet one day :pachah1:

I was called dhar yar when i was in hargeisa last summer by a group of boys in a huge truck on their way to the rural towns outside of hargeia to collect merchandise from the locals there anyways , i was throwing left over food for the goats grazing outside to have when the truck drove past me , they called to me saying things like "walal na so eeg or nayaahe na eeg" but of course I'm not gonna answer.... after they grew frustrated they realised my clothes didn't really fit (i was given my aunts dirac) i'm 5ft11 so one of them yelled "naya Dhar yar na so eeg" now my entire fkin area calls me dhar yar uff they don't let you live it down as well , imma take it to my grave. :deadrose:

Probably because Somalis have low IQ. There's direct causal link between religiosity and intelligence. Although even smart people do dumb things, most intelligent people know supplicating and talking to invisible entity called Allah/God is downright daft.

I knew at least five hebel sandheere's in one community.
That common? I knew only one. For the longest, I thought it was his actual name and didn't put together it was a nickname. I'd say it was on the nose though lol, no exaggeration, and he was extremely hot.

:russ:Canjeex was a nickname we had for this Ethiopian guy who lived across from us with a big scar across his face when i was living in Ethiopia as a kid. He understood what it meant and use to really hate us for it. Since he was a lot bigger we use to get into bare fights with him and his friends. Good times!
