My best friend is my loyal slave and my cat kneads my calool and back as if I'm getting a massage. Animals are very intelligent animals. Once you get a pet, you realize how terrible humans are and you don't want to be near them anymore.

They're not haram per se, it's just haram to keep them indoors and impure to get their saliva on you, you can keep one outdoors all you want as far as I know

You guys have isolated experiences with a few somalis and think we’re all like that. Since when were we all scared of cats?

Yeah, no one in Bosaso or Garowe that I've seen is scared of them. Maybe of dogs but there are too many cats in Somalia for you to mentally survive if you're scared of them.

Just last year my tol threw me a bit of a soiree at a reception hall to welcome my then return to the wadan and just to give you an idea of the extent of the bisad infestation, at least 1-2 cats somehow found their way into the indoor reception hall and were swarming around our tables, walking under our feet and meowing for hilib when we began to eat. All anyone did was laugh and sometimes feed them or shoo them. In fact, the latter is the only negative attitude toward cats I saw in both magaalo; people bringing out soft and long tree branches (f.e. from a palm tree) that can't hurt them and using them to shoo the cats away when they try to meow for food or jump onto your table. No fear. At best a nuisance.
