Why are Somali Canadians so poor?

It's amazing how fast things have changed. 10 years ago Toronto had not only much cheaper housing, electricity + car insurance etc. but it was probably one of the few cities in the world where you could get a $16-20/hr warehouse or manufacturing job with low rents in the media/finance/tech capital of a G8 country.

Now those same warehouse jobs are $14.50/hour that you can only get through some shitty job agency, rent is double what it was (most places don't even include utilities anymore which doubled as well) and unless you're in tech or finance right now, your salary prospects haven't really kept up with the increases in the cost of living and even there most of the gains have only been in the last two years.

This is a problem everywhere, exact same scenario playing out here in Oz. If you're in any major global city like London, Toronto, New York, Melbourne, Auckland etc. it's going to be a uphill battle for social mobility, it's best to buy homes in rural areas/small cities.

Canada plans to welcome 60 million immigrants but it seem they do not have enough inventory for existing population.

I wonder if it's a purposely inflated bubble. It has to pop at some point.

Housing in Seattle is around 700,000 to 1,500,000. If your looking for an older cheaper house you need to look in the inner city where the range for housing is 400,000 to 800,000. Thanks to these big corporations like amazon, Microsoft, and T-mobile real estate has become more expensive by the months. Not to mention the minimum wage at almost $17. Be grateful you guys live in minnexaar and Columbus.

Bubbles pop, this won't. Housing is too big to fail at this point. The government will do anything to prop it up.

As it should be. But here it’s crazy. Wages have not kept up but housing has skyrocketed. It makes no sense whatsoever when the average Canadian doesn’t make a ton of money.

Has the house prices in London skyrocketed as well? I don’t hear much about it. I know it’s always been an expensive market.
London house prices have gone so high lately. Even shit houses 2 bedroom houses go for above 400k and dont get me started on the flats

I recommend Germany cause there are far better jobs that pay well and they also have great benefits

Moving to Murica is the move.

That country is so vast, that it is possible to find a city with high paying jobs and house with reasonable prices
