Yes I use the rendille despite them being Somaloid and not like the oromo because their elders talk about being waaqist who rejected Islam and were driven out by Somali because of it. This would've happened around the same time other clans were being driven out as Islam came to us early.

There should deffo be more research into these assimilated clans. Writing down and organising the clan lineages can help us find such people. I honestly believe some of these people among us who move like this are not of pure Somali origin. They are non-somali Cushites who have hatred for us.

This is going to sound controversial but this is just my theory, I think we have a large ratio of munafiqs in our midst that hide under the banner of qabiil because the culture and deen is so intertwined.

Our people are highly tribalistic and unlikely to tolerate foreigners or Muslims in their midst, let alone mix with them. As a result, they drove them out and settled in the largest landmass in Africa.

Our population is too small to have assimilated people or else we would have been large in numbers like the Habesha ethnic groups.

Somalis expanded over the Penisular like any ethnic group. The Somali peninsula before us was full of many East Cushitic and other Somaloid tribes that were mostly genocided by our ancestors as you can take a Somali from Djibouti and a Somali from Marka and they'll be the same stock genetically.

It's also worth noting that the Somali expansion had a religious precense to it. Just like Amhara expansion was killing and enslaving Ethio semetic and Agew tribes that weren't Orthodox. It's not like we could find and kill every single non-Somali in a peninsula larger than western Europe. But we killed enough of them to make the peninsula a region of a single homogenous ethnicity.
