Why are MOST social media users such trash?

Disclaimer: This obviously doesn't apply to people using it to run a business, politicians, journos etc.

They're extremely vain yet they reek of insecurity and their confidence is paper-thin.

Twitter users tend to be particularly grotesque. There's a weird orthodoxy on there and if your views fall outside of the accepted norms, you're basically a leper.

The biggest feminist I know IRL is some Libyan dickhead from London. He'll take every opportunity to be a condescending prick and try to "educate you" for making any off-hand or slightly edgy joke.
Yet he's sent multiple girls unsolicited d.ck pics.

Why do such fucking smooth-brained and smarmy pieces of shit congregate on these platforms? I get that the whole "social status" shit, but why do they tend to be such truly repugnant people?

It reminds me of the mental breakdowns that the SJW echo chambers of Twitter were having when Donald Trump won the 2016 US elections because they finally realised that no matter how many retweets or likes they get amongst themselves , they won't be able to influence the real life opinions of most modern day working class white Americans who aren't in tune with this social media BS and most are right wing and conservative in their views.

The thing is though half the people who espouse these toxic views don't really believe them, wallahi half the time it's just a way to have power over you. "No no, you have to do as we say or you're cancelled".

Its called virtue signalling my friend. Everyone on social media wants to fit in and not seem like the odd one of out. This is a generation of followers and not leaders.

But it doesn't work, half the girls I know who're extremely popular on socials tend to be the ones with the least confidence and feel hollow. Wallahi some of them have completely broken down infront of me.
Yh cause their real life is shit. But on social media, they big themselves up and pretend to be what they are not, which in turn makes social media trash and makes their egos bigger. It doesn't solve their own problems, which causes confidence issues.

It's a shitty cycle

I know a very popular guy on twitter. Now this guy has all these girls retweeting his posts.

I've known this guy since childhood and irl he the complete opposite of what he portrays the same goes for Twitter/Instagram people.

Social media is all posturing and appearing greater than you are.

Humans congregate

Humans make a subculture

Humans in that subculture have a lot of shit people that perpetuate a certain view due to being closed off

A tale as old as time, you can even see it on this forum, hell you can see it on this thread right now.

Twitter has established itself as their designated meeting place.
Reddit has another audience (cuckolds)
4ch has another audience (degenerates and outcasts)

It's just human behaviour, don't overthink it.
I know sxb, it's just gets draining seeing this shit sometimes without wanting to gas the fucking lot of them wallahi.

Except this is an anonymous forum where people don't actively aim to build large followings. The only negative about this site is the rating system, in that it shouldn't exist.

True there's no real hierarchy, even the mods (who work for free) don't go on power trips. Somalis are egalitarian for the most part, so we don't accept hierarchy.

Ay yo you're spot on, most of these repetitive topics like;

"50k Mehr"
"Xalimos and Ajnabis"
"Embarrassing random Somali on Twitter"
"West African says something about Somali's on twitter"
Are done for ratings, if you remove that incentive a lot of this stuff will die down. Genius:dwill:
