Im a man
every women loves honeymoons, the fact im asking this question is proof I am a man
I don't think it is imitating kuffar tbh. it isn't a religious practice at all.I didn't read the responses. I don't have time to debate this entire website.
In any case, I think Sheikh Uthaymeen's opinion is worth more than that of a million SomaliSpotters.
And I think it's weird that people are up in arms out of desire for something so frivolous. Or is there no desire involved? I can't look inside anyone's heart but to me it seems like desire and materialism.
I seem too extreme for you guys.I agree that honeymoons to other countries is decadence. But restaurants? I think restaurants is ok every now and then. But I do think it would be virtuous if you and your wife avoided restaurants.
You most definitely are numb to things, so am I, noone here who grew up in the west can say they are not numb to things, if you grow up in sodom and gomorrah your gonna be desensitized to sodom and gomorrahNo its because I was born and raised in a non Muslim country. It was wajib upon my parents to move to a western country if it improved their lives, and it did. I'm not numb to anything, I'm just not easily influenced.
Tbh, even though I don't agree with everything you said I find it commendable that you have an informed opinion on what you choose to do in your life. There's a lot of sheepishness in society these days. So keep questioning and stay curious I would say.I seem too extreme for you guys.
But I genuinely believe going restaurants is decadence, even getting uber eats, although some people have no other choice but uber eats due to being too busy. its a complex topic
but I think we could all do with detoxing ourselves from going to resturaunst and eating trash food that tastes nice, and even stop indulging in homecooked unhealthy food aswell
Im not here to trigger people, I think you guys just get triggered when I talk, I just want to have a discussion, about how we live, its unimaginable in the past, to have the variety of food we have now, the amount of ease of food and cheapness of it, I can get any food from any season, any spice from any country, hundreds of different cultures foods and places to eat, at my fingertips, I can do whatever I want and eat what I want, I can cook whatever I want, this is an unprecedented time of luxury for us.Tbh, even though I don't agree with everything you said I find it commendable that you have an informed opinion on what you choose to do in your life. There's a lot of sheepishness in society these days. So keep questioning and stay curious I would say.
I agree 100% with this. It's clear that the issue of luxury and overindulgence in food is a problem within the Muslim community, both during the month of Ramadan and outside of it. The Islamic tradition stresses the importance of simplicity and moderation in all aspects of life, including food. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) warned against luxury and overindulgence and encouraged his followers to be mindful of their consumption.Im not here to trigger people, I think you guys just get triggered when I talk, I just want to have a discussion, about how we live, its unimaginable in the past, to have the variety of food we have now, the amount of ease of food and cheapness of it, I can get any food from any season, any spice from any country, hundreds of different cultures foods and places to eat, at my fingertips, I can do whatever I want and eat what I want, I can cook whatever I want, this is an unprecedented time of luxury for us.
Ibn khaldun mentioned that people, when they get their normal food, and they start to get an easy life, they then move on to adding spice to their food, cooking it in different ways, etc etc, until the society is engrossed in luxury and ends up getting destroyed. When we get our basic needs met, we want more and more, there is never an end, and the more food and luxury we have, the more we become usd to it, to the point where not eating out sounds "miserable", eating a plain simple meal is "hell" and "boring and tasteless"
Look at MUslims today, in the east, and the west, in the richer countries, ramadhan, is not even ramdhan anymore, do people know that as Muslim we are not allowed to eat more than we need to, a third of the stomach is not the minimum as people say, it is the maximum, we are meant to eat good healthy food just enough for us to be able to survive, the religion in and within itself is a simplistic lifestyle, decadence is not part of Islam. In ramadhan, we fill our stomachs when we can eat, with all types of luxurious foods, to the point, where we even feel full during our fast, its not even like we are fasting because we eat so much trash. Do people even know what its like to just eat a couple bites of food everyday during ramadhan, or just enough for them to survive, and healthy food, that feeling of starvation and emptiness during fasting is the real way we should be fasting, not to even mention outside of ramadhan how much we eat, obesity is a major problem in our community.
That being said, if you need uber eats it is fine, if you like good food it is fine but cut down on how much you eat and make sure it is good food.
Abu Umamah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There will be men from my nation who eat a variety of foods, drink a variety of drinks, wear a variety of clothes, and are boastful in their speech. These are the worst of my nation.”

This is not the end of my discussion on the topic, everyone has different lives and different circumstances, some people are not intentionally being luxurious, some people are not being luxurious or have the love of the dunya seeped into their heart as much, its a deep topic, I would like to have more discussion on this area, without targeting or blaming anyone, especially myself I am guilty of this, but this is a real issue in our modern world, and we know what happened to all the past nations who indulged in luxury
Yep that’s why I like this kid despite disagreeing with him a lot. He actually does research and goes from there. Weighs up different opinions as well.Tbh, even though I don't agree with everything you said I find it commendable that you have an informed opinion on what you choose to do in your life. Seriously why is this an issueinteresting.
Yes I agree with youI agree 100% with this. It's clear that the issue of luxury and overindulgence in food is a problem within the Muslim community, both during the month of Ramadan and outside of it. The Islamic tradition stresses the importance of simplicity and moderation in all aspects of life, including food. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) warned against luxury and overindulgence and encouraged his followers to be mindful of their consumption.
But I think it's important to remember that everyone's circumstances are different, and not everyone may be intentionally indulging in luxury. However, it's important for us to reflect on our own habits and strive to align them with the teachings of Islam. We can start by cutting down on the amount of food we consume and choosing healthier options, as well as being mindful of the love of the material world and its effect on our hearts. This is a complex topic, and I think it requires more discussion and reflection for the betterment of our community.
I guess when you grow up in endz it makes your heart cold, plus I have natural genetics for just having a cold heartStill think he’s a bit too emo though. I remember his posts about not believing he’d ever be in love ect. Miserable LOL. So his anti-honeymoon stance is right on brand.
Because its just waste of money and time and unneccesarySeriously why is this an issue?
How old are you?Because its just waste of money and time and unneccesary
Around my 20s whyHow old are you?
You share the same perspective on luxury and overindulgence with many figures in Islam. Al-Ghazali stated "The world is a deceiver and the best deceiver is food." Similarly, Ibn Tamiyah said "The love of this world and the desire for it is the root of all evil." And Rumi reminds us "Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you."Yes I agree with you
I also believe travelling to just go and eat and look at nice places is part of decadence, The only travelling I would say is not for luxury is when a person is purely doing it for stuff like educational purposes, business, maybe if you actually live in a place for a couple months in order to get out of your comfort zone and broaden your horizon to a new way of life and benefit yourself(which can't be done on a one week holiday in a hotel)
you said u were 16-17 if i do recallAround my 20s why
nah never said thatyou said u were 16-17 if i do recall
