I live in London ok, and recently a girl who I've known since she was a baby a family friend at the age of 17 has just married her late thirties relative.Apparently she is love with him, and vice versa and are planning to go back to somalia together, she was born here and he came here at a young age. What shocked me was she seemed so loud and aggressive and I thought she would be a feminist in the future but boy was wrong. I saw her recently and she looks happy, a nd rather quiet which I find odd. I find it all so hard to believe and take in. Has anyone encountered anything familiar?

She sounds like she's been groomed. No teenager all of a sudden decides to marry a relative pushing 40. This is why you have to keep relatives away from your kids. I don't trust these people.

definitely. However this case has already happended. All we can do is wish her happiness. People need to take more precautions with their children. keeping young girls away from older men is one of them

He's in her prime and she's just started life. She's like the same age as me in the same city as me. Lads and lassies our age are in sixth form working to get to uni and go out having fun not making kids.

As someone who prefers older guys maybe I can provide some Insight. Older guys are much more mature and have money, simple as that. They’re more likely to be serious and honestly more attractive. You know the saying men age like fine wineeeeee lol. Now that age gap between them is not normal so there is probably some other factor at play here, maybe her family members convinced her it was a good idea or maybe she just wants to feel as young as she is forever. Allah knows
Off topic, but was your father in your life? I ask because I notice a common theme with women who prefer older men not having a father figure around.
She's definitely getting groomed, my sister knew this girl who got married at 18 with this 32 year old man (hey knew each other when she was 14 due to relatives) she seemed absolutely over the heels for him until they got married and 2 years later divorced. She admitted that he was constantly manipulating and gaslighting her, since she was so young and impressionable it was easy for him to manipulate her. She kept convincing herself that she was "happy" because she didn't knew better when in reality she was miserable, it's very sad but unfortunately happens to a lot of young girls.
If every older man that marries a young girl is accused of grooming, does that mean Aisha RA was groomed? Mind you these types of marriages were not exclusive to Prophet Muhammad SAW but rather a societal practice that spanned through all of Arabia prior and after the advent of Islam.
If you disagree with this why not directly say you have a problem with the Islamic age of consent? Why scapegoat it onto someone who grew up in a society where these types of practices were normalized?
