Why are albanians and turks so unreligous?

I live in london a place full of Muslims and Albanians and turks are the least religious folk. Wallahi I don't get it. You can even ask them to recite al Fatiha and they tell you they can't.

I don't understand how you can drink and smoke and basically don't even bother to read quran and think you can call your self muslim.

The muslims that are good with the faith here in london are somalis Pakistanis Bengalis and some others.

These Albanian and turk folk don't follow the deen nacala

Secular traditions are more prominent in their countries, the interaction with the West has influenced them in many ways and left them less insular than most muslim countries, and this creates a culture more permissive to irreligious behavior.

This then translates to social sanctions not being applied to the same extent, and without social sanctions the religious beliefs are not adhered to, and later they become less socially reproduced.

Albanians are really nationalist people. They are Albanian first, no matter if they are Muslim, Orthodox or Catholic. They are irreligious because of communism. Albania was the first atheist state in the world.

Yap,in there country 99%are muslim but like most of them dont really practice,bars everywhere in turkey,islam in name only

Bosniaks used to be pretty secular due to communism, and still are to some extent, but that is changing, especially since the early 90's and after the war, a lot more Bosniaks are rediscovering their great Islamic tradition.
