Who was the Mad Mullah?

I noticed there’s a lot of historical revisionism in our history especially the kacaan regime who changed a lot about out history.

This mad Mullah or Sayid in reality is a controversial guy who killed a lot of people and was no different from Al shabaab of our times. The man was crazy, he use to kill, loot, make takfir and throw men off the cliffs and a lot of his deeds are recorded in his poems.

You cannot be 100% sure.

Some say he was a good man, some say he isn't..

Who knows.
A lot of his works were written in the colonial archives and his bad deeds are recorded in his poems. The only reason why many Somalis see this guy as a national icon is because of the Kacaans brainwashing. I use to admire the Sayid but after reading more about him, I made my own conclusions. Some of the things I read disgusts me.

You do realize that both sides can be falsifying information right?

Who knows, who cares.
He's dead you're not whether he killed some people in the past or not does not matter anymore.

All credible history should be taught and this is simply history. Why shouldn’t we care about our history? Secondly, the poems aren’t false and what he did was recorded in the poems.

I am neutral because I cannot believe in poems which could be fabricated.
I need evidence before bad-mouthing some historic person.

At least he wasn't a traitor like his contemporaries.
He was a man who signed protectorate treaties with the Italians to get the coasts of Nugaal and threw innocent men off cliffs. If you ask me, he was a total monster and no different from Isis and Alshabab.

That is going overboard the man was literally in a fight against colonialists what poems in particular are you talking about? Furthermore if any innocents perished it still doesn’t nullify his cause, he is the closest thing we had to a king of all somalis a few mistakes is understandable.

People generally dislike his takfiir of colonial collaborators but that is the valid islamic viewpoint that english lackeys who fight to dominate muslims for christians are non muslims themselves.

I think all people SHOULD care about their history. I think it is disturbing if people don't. People who lack patriotism can be very dangerous.

That was in the pre modern era. And there were invaders. Completely different situation.
Yup.

@Ayubi do you feel the same way about Salahudeen who Im guessing you got the inspiration for your name from? He spent most of his time fighting the muslims and their leadership who were collaborators with the gaalo before ultimately uniting them and retaking Jerusalem.

Thats how wars were fought historically and if this is your criteria for insulting the Sayid then you may feel the same way about almost every historical Muslim leader. They are first harsh against collaborators then once uniting people ultimately defeat the invaders/occupiers.

You're too easily influenced to be on this forum if now you're at level of insulting the Sayid.
