I had this Moldovan woman crazy about me many years ago. Now it makes sense, I have an affinity with Romanians.

Those Montonegrins deny their Serb nature for nationalist reasons and because there are other elements. I think they are like Tigrayan and Tigrinya. Kind of similar but really different but "same".
Tigray and Tigrinya distinction is based on history. Similar to Germans and Austrians

See how calm they are?

Any other group of people (me included) would have said 'bugger this, Gambia should be incorporated into our Nation.'

:trumpsmirk:

Nations like Montenegro (Serbs) and Moldova (Romanians) seem to exist for no reason.

Somalis would have NEVER stopped fighting to incorporate Gambia.

The historical distinction is what sets divergences over time. That's how new identities form, all types of drifting phenomenological developments. Later you have other crossfading sweeping forces that form new identity concepts making people see themselves closer today than they were.

For example, Eritrea before colonialism and after was very different. Europeans set the seed of a politico-national tradition of conceptual settings that later became pronounced by the various native factions.

People underestimate how dissimilar Eritrea was from Ethiopian highlanders back in the day.

Eritrea as an entity has some historicity. Around the 1st century CE in the Periplus the region ruled by the ruler named "Zoskales" who is supposedly well-versed in Greek doesn't actually sound a whole lot like Aksum as many assume but more equivalent to the Eritrean coast and the medieval region of "Medri Bahri":

Some form of "Eritrea" and "Biher-Tigrinya" folk has been a thing for a long, long time by the looks of it.

Indeed, the geographic area of Eritrea was a separate thing. I think this was the link that gave some interesting insight. Don't remember everything about it but I'm sure you will have some benefit from checking it out: http://www.madote.com/2010/02/biher-tigrinya-and-tigray-people-war-of.html

I will have to re-read it soon or continue where I left off with a refresher if I never finished, lol.

They had a confederation for a few years but it eventually collapsed.

@Hargeysa @malab

I assure you my Isaaq boy will be a wonderful specimen. His mother shall be selected from among the proud Habar Awal and I shall name him Yoonis for the Habar Yoonis whom my father's mother descends from on her mother's side. Strong, tall and dashingly charismatic... this nigga will be the Somali Daemon Blackfyre:

Daemon was tall and powerful, with broad shoulders, muscular arms, and a flat stomach. Targaryen on both sides, Daemon had all the hallmarks of his house. He had strong Targaryen features, with deep purple eyes and silver-gold hair which he wore long, flowing down to his shoulders in a silvery-gold mane. He always went clean-shaven, with neither beard nor mustache. Almost inhumanly beautiful, Daemon looked every inch the warrior, and many thought that he strongly resembled portraits of Aegon the Conqueror.

He shall be the governor of Maroodi Jeex, Togdheer iyo Western Sanaag. His title being "Grand Suldaan of the Isaaqs". I shall love him dearly and make sure he benefits from my nepotistic tendencies, I promise! I mean, as a full-blooded Somali offspring he will most assuredly be put ahead of all my half-breed children. No half Dinka is sitting at a table with him. Sorry @Nilotic and sorry to any Yemenis reading for I am a lusty conqueror who will eventually turn his eyes to Southern Yemen as well.

I remember back in high school, I was speaking afaan oromo with my friends and this Kenyan girl we were sitting by in class “where are you from?” I told her I was from Somalia and oromia (Ethiopia) and she went “wow your half Ethiopian😍😍” I told her that I don’t really identify with the “Ethiopia” label much and that’s label is not for my kind, and she’s starts going “well why would you wanna claim Somalia tho, that place is full of terrorist pirates” I got pissed and told her that Somalis are gonna take over Kenya soon and that we carry narobi (and some other shit that my dad told me) and she just looked at me all pissed and stuff while my friends were gunning on her looks (we were a rowdy bunch at times tbh)
The rest of that trimester was sooooo akward after that, but i don’t really regret it looking back at it tbh.

Somalia does get all of the smoke that the horn as a whole should be getting tho, Ethiopia and Eritrea for the most part Is just as bad as Somalia, don’t tell the media fool you lol, but inshallah Somalia under the right hands will prosper

Definitely Senegalese. If you see those racist memes those North Africans make about Subsahran Africa, they always leave Senegal out. Everyone racists like them.

Senegal is cool like most ppl said but I have to say Gambia. Senegal can’t get number 1 because of some b*tch in high school.
This is like choosing Somaliland, then saying you can’t choose someone from the South.
