What this ploy really means is that PM Hamza is speaking on behalf of his boss, a dictator in the making, who thinks he can outsmart Somalis with such fanciful goals!

The name of the game is to pretend 1P1V is going to happen until the very end then ask for a 12 to 18 months extension.

It’s to blow smoke for dictatorship, they know themselves they can’t achieve 1m1v within these two years. So he plans on staying longer than 2026 to lie and say he’s working on it. He’s going to need more than paid parliamentarians to get him through this hurdle.

HSM is the only politician in Somalia that I know of that is universally hated by the people. It’d be unanimous if people casted their ballots. If there was a choice between a Madow president and Hassan, the vote would be split. So he doesn’t really want 1m1v
