I would like to be an anthropologist of white people and understand white people.

What are your theories on white people?

I also would like to have a white friend.

This is something I have been bothered with. I have had white friends but then I have trouble with having white friends.

I feel unsophisticated without having any white friends. If I have a white friend, I feel very sophisticated.

I have had white people want to be friends with me and some women that wanted a different kind of attention.....

however, my issue is I think white people are on a different planet mentally and spiritually. I honestly want a token white friend but I cannot relate to white people.

I believe that many white people also want to be friends with brown people and sometimes with me.... but I can't relate with white people.

What are your thoughts on white people and what are your theories on white people?

I don’t have thoughts. They’re just people. I have two white best friends. We don’t share the same views but we respect each other.

What do you mean by : « I feel unsophisticated without having any white friends. If I have a white friend, I feel very sophisticated ».

I'm not sure how to further elaborate. I simply feel sophisticated if I have a white friend.

So you have white friends but they don't share your views.

I know a guy from Eritrea who is a devout Christian. I've had conversations with him and I can relate to what he says.

But I have no idea how to interact with people I can't relate to and I don't want to interact with them.

I mean.... if someone is a devout Christian.... I can have a conversation with them.

But someone who is an atheist? I don't think I'd get aggressive or anything but I think it would be awkward to try to have a conversation with an atheist.

If I'm around people like that, I think I'll just be very quiet and quietly think they're crazy.

A white Christian evangelical did invite me to lunch to try to convert me and we did have lunch and debate religion. I had a good time.

I guess it's not the whiteness in itself but the materialism of Western culture that I can't relate to.

That's exactly correct, in a sense.

I can imagine I give a lecture on some subject explaining my views on something- and then as a dramatic conclusion I bring out a white guy and I'm like "see? he agrees with me." and the guy is like "yup" and uses some overly big words to explain why I'm right.

And the listeners are struck with awe, believing I am clearly a man of culture and sophistication.

do you think they are better than you ? Sophistication is in your behaviour and so many other things. Not in the people you hang out with.

my white friends are not religious. But we’ve known each other since we were kids. I don’t relate much to them. I’m open minded. I’m Muslim but it doesn’t mean that I can’t talk about other things with non Muslims.

Thing is that you haven’t met too many whites. College educated more liberal whites are deeper thinkers but tbh conservatives and southerners sound as ignorant as Somalis if not more so.

You feel inferior to caadans intellectually which is why you you seek approval from caadans?

You've summarized the issue nicely here. It's often easier to relate to like-minded individuals than individuals who look like you. Case in point, I have more in common with my religious Christian white friends who don't drink or party than some Somalis who drink alcohol and don't practice the deen

They are evil, I stay away from them.
Their are odd ones , who are hippies who actually hate their own, it's weird.

White people's life styles are boring, look at their food, it's very bland potato and peas with gravy with a piece of meat on the side (unseasoned) which isn't to bad, it's full of protein and fibre. That's why they are strong and healthy
But I find they waste their time figuring out what to cook for the day, because their foods aren't as exotic as others.

They have boring conversations like "I'm dog sitting Bianca's puppy" ...
Their sense of humour is boring, black people would laugh and start hitting their bodies etc white people will just say "ha ha ha" and back to a serious face.

But one good thing about White people is they are adventurous.

I'm surprised people don't understand what I'm talking about.

I explained it in a sort of pictorial form.

Think of the scenario I described.

The phenomena isn't something I made up.

Let me give a few examples.

Have you ever seen the commercials Arnold Schwarzenegger did for a Japanese energy drink?

Think about what was going on there. The energy drink probably could have paid less money for some Japanese celebrities to act in the commercials. Why hire Arnold Schwarzenegger?

Think of the psychology behind this.

"Our energy drink is so bomb- even these white Western celebrities want to drink it! Our energy drink isn't just conquering Japan- our energy drink is conquering the world!"- that is the message being sent.

Think of what message that sends to the audience.

Now let me give another example.

If you've ever seen the Hugo Chávez speech at the UN around 04 or 05- that's another example. He very famously called Bush the devil. He tore into the United States. I recommend hearing it with the original audio if you've heard an English dubbed version. It was a very militant, very intense speech.

But what did he do before he gets into the speech? At the very beginning, he holds up a book by Noam Chomsky and encourages the audience to read it and when he recommends it he specifically refers to him as a prestigious intellectual from the US.

He holds up the Chomsky book like a trophy before he tears into the United States.

What is he doing? Does he feel inferior? Not at all. Chávez was a strategist. He was sending a very powerful message to his supporters and his enemies with that gesture.

A third example.

The Nation of Islam had Michael Hoffman, a white author, speak at an NOI event where Hoffman said some things that went along with the NOI platform. Does Farrakhan feel inferior? Not at all.

If you can understand the examples, you can understand the sort of pictorial illustration I gave.
