Where did I say Somalia is richer than Ethiopia? The guy I responded to was shilling Ethiopia's growing GDP and I countered by saying GDP by itself doesn't mean anything when your GDP per capita is still bad.

However, one thing Somalia does have over Ethiopia is the debt relief it recently had while Ethiopia defaulted on its loans. Combined that with the possible riches that Somalia's resources contain and with the right leadership Somalia can easily surpass Ethiopia in wealth.
