Angela Merkel is unironically a good politician. Not good as in morally good, but good as in, she's really an expert in realpolitik. Her nuanced geopolitical stance against Russia really shows this.

Israel now has ties to Oman, Saudi Arabia and Sudan. With the latter they are forming diplomatic ties. He works with countries such as Hungary and Poland even though they are anti-semitic, it's excused for geopolitical interests. He is willing to work with anyone that benefits the state. Israel will soon have ties to all Arab countries because they need Israel's expertise and technology.

We all know the tough, strong side of Putin. But Putin started as a laptop and a puppet for Yeltsin and his oligarchs. But he cleverly usurped the power, and called in his former KGB mates who were sidelined for a decade.
