Which ancient civilisation interests you and why?

I noticed their must be some 'legacy' left over from ancient egypt in even our 'later' culture where all Somalis get emotional when they hear 'king' and respond 'only god is king', maybe their was king worship and left a legacy on us to be fearful of anything calling themselves king. Before pharoah period, ancient egyptians were knowns as KINGS even attested by the quran to differentiate the moses period and 'joseph' period the son of Jacob son of Abraham period
You know those kings wasn’t Egyptian?
I’m pretty sure it’s proven they was invaders from Morden palastine and became king of Egypt until Egyptians rebelled back and changed king to pharoah.

None, yet all, for each successive civilisation is built upon whence preceding civilisations had left off, but let us firstly define what constitutes a 'civilisation: citizen city'* from Maya to Egypt to Mesopotamia to Rome amongst others.

It is generally established a civilisation to be recognised, it must have an established ' system of government, urbanisation, a writing system, stable supply of sustenance' amongst other criterion, which rules out earlier hunter-gatherer, nomadic societies.

With that in mind, mine have always been an amalgam of the many ranging from the Egyptians to the Romans to the Muslims to the West to the budding Sino on the cusp of bursting unto the scene (not discounting its earlier contributions).

Postscript:
Greeks were apt at borrowing from other cultures, primarily from the Egyptians, incorporating, and passing it on as theirs, just like its successor, the West. Theirs was greatly advanced by the Romans, a rare occurrence where a rising empire wholly embraced another, only to replace it with its own, without diminishing the other.

Footnotes:
* Mayans (with their discovery of the 'guano' for modern farming)
Egyptians (mother of the world 'um al dunya' )
Mesopotamians (Cradle of civilisation round Tigris & Euphrates)
Romans (modern system of government, as we know it)
Chinese (first recorded system of proto-writing)
Western ( to date, with the advent of modern technology, the greatest human advancement).
